When we think about building our strengths, we often look inward.

We ask:

  • What am I good at?
  • What have I done well?
  • Where have I succeeded?

But there’s another powerful way to grow that many people overlook:

Look up.


Who Do You Admire?

Take a moment and think about someone you truly respect or admire.

It could be:

  • A friend
  • A family member
  • A mentor
  • A coach
  • A public figure

Now ask yourself:

 What makes me look up to this person?
 What strengths do they have that stand out to me?

Maybe it’s their:

  • Confidence
  • Discipline
  • Kindness
  • Leadership
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Strength during difficult times

You don’t admire them by accident.

You admire them because something about them resonates with you.


What Do You Already Share?

Now here’s the important question:

 Do I already have some of these same strengths?

Many times, the qualities we admire in others are already within us — we just haven’t fully recognized or developed them yet.

Maybe you see their confidence… but you’ve shown confidence in smaller moments.
Maybe you admire their resilience… but you’ve already overcome challenges of your own.

Those connections matter.

They show you that you’re not starting from zero.


Learn From What You See

Once you identify those strengths, ask yourself:

 How can I apply what I admire about them into my own life?

  • How would they handle a challenge you’re facing?
  • How would they respond under pressure?
  • What mindset would they bring into the situation?

If you’re close enough to that person, take it one step further:

Ask them directly.

Ask:
 “How would you handle this?”
 “Why do you approach things the way you do?”

You might learn more about them than you expected.

But more importantly…

You’ll learn more about yourself.


Strength Is Built Through Action

It’s one thing to admire strength.

It’s another to practice it.

When you take what you’ve learned and apply it:

  • You begin to grow
  • You begin to stretch yourself
  • You begin to handle challenges differently

That’s how you build Confidence.

And when you do it again… and again… and again…

That’s how you build Resilience.


Keep Looking Up — and Moving Forward

The people you admire aren’t there to intimidate you.

They’re there to inspire you.

They show you what’s possible.

They reflect what can exist within you.

So look up.

Learn.

Apply.

Grow stronger.

And never forget — you’re already Beautiful.
